Ristolainen et al. found that athletes with less than 2 rest days per week during the training season had a 5.2-fold risk for an overuse injury. This study was performed on cross-country skiers, swimmers, and long-distance runners in the age range of 15–35 years old.
More is not always better.
Pay attention to how you feel. A lot of times the best question to ask yourself during training season is: "How are my relationships with my family, friends, and co-workers?" If they are strained or less than ideal, then you likely are not recovering enough. This is one of the first signs of overtraining.
Maybe 2 days off per week is ideal for your situation.
